This role will be centered on addressing some of California’s most pressing and important issues, including health equity, the digital divide, drought, clean energy and much more.

COOL STUFF YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • Keep up-to-date with emerging trends in California’s political, policy, regulatory and business arenas
  • Learn best practices in core workstreams, including content generation, media relations, thought leadership, social media, research, partnership outreach, etc.
  • Develop/write messaging, fact sheets, infographics, newsletters, presentations, reports and website content
  • Coordinate creative design of materials with our in-house creative director and/or outside design firms
  • Learn the media landscape, targeting media, managing databases, pitching/securing coverage and building monitoring reports
  • Build your writing skills by preparing press releases, media advisories, opinion editorials, by-lined commentary and briefing interview prep materials
  • Secure and prep client executives for events, panels, podcasts and speaking engagements
  • Support the development of social channel engagement strategies and online community management
  • Track client annual budgets, monthly work-back/production plans and produce weekly activity trackers
  • Participate in development of integrated strategic plans and research/insights analysis

  • Implement communications programs for corporate, trade association, and public agency clients.
  • Execute and oversee development of top-notch content – including press releases, fact sheets, website content and other press/media materials – to drive quality control.
  • Proactively contribute creative new strategies, tactics and ideas to advance client objectives.
  • Execute media relations, influencer engagement and digital campaigns.
  • Effectively interface with clients and actively participate in client meetings and conference calls.
  • Supervise junior staff; set achievable goals for direct reports, delegate opportunities that challenge staff to grow and provide constructive feedback.
  • Serve as mentor and drive professional development of junior staff.
  • Participate in new business and contribute to organic growth, collaborate on proposals and presentations.
