Overview

For years, Sutter Health has been advancing health equity solutions to uncover and address disparities in healthcare – within its own system and across the country. In 2020, Sutter established the Institute for Advancing Health Equity to serve as an innovation incubator that facilitates pragmatic research to be directly applied to clinic settings in order to foster more health equitable outcomes for all.

FHA supported Sutter in the launch of the Institute, developing a cohesive announcement strategy and suite of external materials for use with stakeholders and news media, and leveraging the launch as an opportunity to position Sutter as a thought leader on some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges, like Black maternal health, unconscious bias and most recently, COVID-19 disparities.
